Yale SOM Employment Report + Salary Info

Yale School of Management is the business school for Yale University, the third oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. Located in the coastal town of New Haven, Connecticut, Yale SOM is just miles away from Boston and New York City.

Yale SOM is one of the most selective MBA programs in the country, with close to 11 students competing for each seat. The research and education the program provides in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurship, and operations management is among the best in the world.

The integrated curriculum at Yale SOM requires students to study “raw” cases, analyzing a variety of materials, as opposed to standard case studies. In addition, all students are required to go through the Leadership Development Program, highlighting the school’s value for growing leaders. Most students are also required to take a global studies course or study abroad to gain a global perspective on business.

Students have the freedom to begin taking elective courses in their first year of the program. They are also allowed to choose courses from other departments, such as the law school. Yale prides itself on giving students access to the resources of multiple programs at Yale, not just the department for their field of study. Students are encouraged to take classes outside their program, and even pull on the resources of other leading universities.
