An experience to launch your consulting career
An internship experience should grow skills, push you on real experience, and stretch you past what you thought were your limits. Strategy Sprint does just that – you get dedicated pre-project training from former MBB consultants, and then are staffed on an actual consulting engagement.
Your project leader is an MC coach and former MBB consultant, and you are one in a small team of analysts, each owning your own workstream – meaning your inputs will make or break the project. There’s nothing like the thrill of arriving at cutting-edge insights for a client that is hungry for answers.
Training
What do you need to know to be an all-star consultant? We'll take you through a self-paced, video-based curriculum to help you build core consulting skills like analysis, presentation, and more. Plan to carve out 6 hours over 2 weeks to complete the modules and do the homework.Experience
During project week, we launch you into the real world. You are staffed on a consulting engagement for an incredible organization facing a real strategic challenge with measurable impact. For example, last year, an internship team created over $2M of impact for a web-based business based in California.Mentorship
You get plenty of rope to run your own workstream, but we don't leave you alone to sink or swim. Each consulting team is managed by an ex-MBB consultant. You'll get five 1:1 meetings with your mentor (M-F of project week) and 4 group check-ins to ensure you are on the right track. Your mentor will also join your final presentation on Friday! The project was a great challenge!! Definitely stretched my abilities in terms of knowledge and understanding, and increased my appreciation for consulting! I will be exploring areas of consulting that will leverage my experience and expand my career options!
We kick off with multiple modules of video-based, interactive training that is focused on core consulting skills like Accelerated Excel, Pyramid Principle, Data Insights, and Executive Presentations. We pair that with interactive homework exercises that will ensure that what you learn actually "sticks."
Whether you are a student or mid-career switcher, you'll gain the skills needed to succeed as a consultant.
Many organizations offer consulting classes, but when firms look at your resume, they value actual experience more.
You can't claim to have built consulting skills without, well, actually consulting. You'll run fast, so you'll make mistakes and your analysis might be messy, but you'll get feedback along the way. At the end of the week, you'll offer real-life implementable suggestions for a client that sorely needs it. Now that's the kind of experience that looks great on a resume and sounds great in an interview (heck, we'll even help you add the experience to your CV!).
Experience coupled with mentorship is the most powerful form of learning. That's why your small team is led by a former McKinsey, BCG, or Bain consultant. You'll have a 1:1 check-in with that consultant each day of the engagement.
Learn firsthand how an MBB consultant approaches data, manages a client, and drives a project forward.
This really surpassed my expectations, which is saying something as I have lost count of how many career-related sessions I've attended this year. I am planning to mention this to my MBA cohort as I think a number of them would be very interested in a project like this.
