Tulane University

Tulane University offers undergraduates a dedicated consulting student group, experiential business organizations, and university-supported case interview preparation. The A. B. Freeman School of Business provides career coaching and industry-specific recruiting resources, while Tulane Career Services offers CaseCoach access to eligible students. Students interested in consulting should start early, especially because application timing varies by firm and role.

Consulting placement

Freeman’s latest published undergraduate report covers the Class of 2025 and reports a 90% employment rate six months after graduation and an average base salary of $78,000 for Bachelor of Science in Management graduates.

Consulting clubs

Tulane Consulting Group (TCG) is a selective, student-run undergraduate organization listed by the Freeman School. Its programming develops skills in data analytics, presentations, communication, and case studies. The group also offers résumé and cover-letter workshops, guest speaker events, and case competitions. Students interested in joining should check the official organization listing and contact the club for current selection criteria, activities, and recruitment dates.

TAMID Group combines business education with consulting and investment opportunities. Its Freeman listing describes an educational curriculum followed by a national case competition. Eligible members can then join student-led consulting teams that advise Israeli companies on business problems, or participate in the investment program. TAMID is worth considering if you want structured business experience alongside case competition practice.

These organizations provide different kinds of preparation: TCG is explicitly focused on consulting skills and professional recruiting, while TAMID offers experiential business learning and consulting projects. Confirm each group’s current client work, membership availability, and event schedule directly rather than assuming every program runs each semester.

Career services support for consulting

Tulane offers a particularly useful resource for case interview preparation: CaseCoach. Students with an active license can access personalized preparation plans, case and fit interview courses, more than 20 sample interviews, over 100 practice cases, peer practice, and targeted drills in case math, structuring, calculations, and chart interpretation. Licenses are limited, so students may be waitlisted.

To request access, Tulane instructs students to review specified sections of the Vault Guide to Case Interviews through Tulane single sign-on and complete a survey that includes a short quiz. The university says invited students should receive a CaseCoach email within two business days of completing the process. Start this process early if you expect to recruit for consulting.

Freeman’s Career Management Center provides career strategy coaching, résumé and cover-letter reviews, networking advice, and interview preparation. Freeman students can schedule appointments through Handshake with a career consultant aligned to their program or major.

Handshake is Tulane’s platform for job and internship listings, employer events, and career appointments. The university also provides designated interview rooms that students can reserve through Handshake for active interviews. Use these resources to track consulting events and secure a quiet location for virtual interviews.

Recruiting timeline

Tulane publishes a recruiting-timelines resource that includes a management consulting timeline and links to company-specific internship recruiting information. The university cautions that its timelines are general guidelines and can vary considerably by firm, city, and role. The page also notes that some internship processes begin well before the summer in which the internship takes place.

Check the consulting timeline before each recruiting cycle, monitor Handshake for employer events, and follow TCG and TAMID announcements. Begin case practice early enough to complete multiple live cases and receive feedback before interviews. Verify application deadlines on each firm’s official careers site; do not assume a previous year’s dates still apply.
