I just did the meatiest part of a summer program at a top firm and I must say, Strategy Sprint really prepped me well and helped me stand out as a top performer on my team for the workshop. Here are the things Strategy Sprint helped me with: 1. We were asked to individually come up with a one-page exec summary. Everyone else on my team wrote very comprehensive one-page reports in Word. I was the only one who made a slide with bullet points using the pyramid principle and 80/20 rule. 2. When our project leader asked each of us how we approached making the exec summary, I had the approach that's most similar to what the PL said they do at at the firm: make a framework, think of the high level story (The what, why and how), and then breaking it into modules/bullet points. 3. I was constantly leading and pushing my team to think of how to tell our story and to trim off less-relevant materials when we had to assemble a deck. 4. I volunteered to present the whole story after the deck was done and everyone liked the way I did it. Thanks so much for all your help!!

Because my coach is an ex-McKinsey consultant, she knows the kind of responses they are looking for and how to rock the interviews. She coached me on exactly how to organize my thoughts and most importantly, craft a coherent response so that I sounded like a pro. A typical session would look like this: I would first attempt a case study (so that I at least get to try on my own), and then she would proceed with a sample response. This method of teaching proved to be very effective. The best part of my sessions is that she went SEVERELY overtime to address all of my questions. Also, with MC’s gigantic library of case questions, I was able to prepare for practically any type of case you can imagine. Overall, I felt my coaching sessions were worth every penny. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I just thought I'd share an update with you.  I recently accepted a role with Deloitte as a senior consultant, specializing in operations.  Deloitte offered a great package, and it was an easy choice for me. I wanted to give a big thanks to you for really honing both my case and fit interview skills. The CAR method was useful and I kept it in mind at all times when answering follow-up questions. They asked questions that I simply didn't expect, but because I had a repository of experiences, I was able to accentuate the right aspect. In casing, my interviewers all complimented me on keeping them apprised of my current thinking. That really seemed to help out and made the conclusion basically a formality. In retrospect, I think fit interview performance was equally important as case, and our sessions prepared me quite well.

As a student, what I found most helpful about the resume editing was that it started out very broad and as we worked more and more on it, I was eased into correcting the smaller nit-picky things. For example, during the first edit, we nailed down things like formatting and general ideas that I wanted the resume to present - things such as more results-oriented bullet points, more numeric examples for these results, what to keep in, what to take out. After that, I was able to go into the details, adding metrics and finessing wording.
