UMass Amherst
UMass Amherst is the flagship public research university of the University of Massachusetts system, located in Amherst, Massachusetts, in the Pioneer Valley. As a large public research institution, UMass Amherst offers students a broad academic environment, a sizable and active alumni network, and strong regional ties throughout the Northeast — a key driver of internship and recruiting access for its students.
Isenberg School of Management
Solid, well-rounded rankings
Isenberg ranks No. 46 nationally on Poets & Quants’ 2026 Best Undergraduate Business Programs list. The Class of 2025 saw strong outcomes: 84% completed at least one business-specific internship before graduation (up from 80% the prior year), and 89.16% of grads found jobs within three months.
A dedicated consulting pipeline for undergrads
The Isenberg Consulting Academy, launched in 2023, is built specifically to help undergraduates break into consulting. It’s open to all majors but designed with first-years and sophomores in mind, so students can align with consulting recruiting timelines early. The academy includes mentorship from consulting professionals, an annual case competition, and structured professional development in critical thinking, case-solving, presentation design, and Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.
A selective student-run consulting group
The Isenberg Undergraduate Consulting Group (IUCG), founded in 2013, is one of the most selective student organizations on campus — accepting less than 9% of applicants — and provides pro bono consulting services to businesses and nonprofits globally. IUCG also runs its own recruiting prep, including an “Ace the Case” interview seminar led by students headed into MBB roles.
Consulting experience built into the curriculum
Isenberg’s integrated first-year practicum places every student into a team assigned a real, local consulting project — incorporated directly into coursework, giving students applied consulting exposure from day one.
Career support
The Office of Career Success runs advising, employer events, and recruiting activities for Isenberg undergraduates via its IConnect platform, backed by a strong alumni network.
Programs
Majors include Accounting, Finance, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Management, Marketing, Operations & Information Management, and Sport Management, with undergraduate certificates in AI in Business, Business Analytics, and Real Estate.
Consulting resources beyond Isenberg
