Brainteaser Prompt
You are given two-hour glasses – one measures 7 minutes and the other measures 4 minutes.
How would you use the two-hour glasses to measure a continuous time period of 9 minutes?
Deloitte Case Study Overview
In this Deloitte case study / Brainteaser, you’re being asked a creative question meant to test both your analytical and creative thinking processes. This particular case is a bit silly – have fun with it!
Brainteasers are solved the same way you solve a Market Sizing question – by breaking down the solution into component parts.
Make sure to follow the 4 steps for solving Market Sizing problems:
- Structure your approach (at least 5 steps is ideal)
- Make assumptions
- Do the calculations
- Get to an insight
This Deloitte case study has an answer built in on the third page of the PDF.
Remember that there are more types of case study questions you will be asked in your interviews than Brainteasers / Market Sizing questions. Make sure you are prepared for each one!
