Great post, really helpful! I think one of the most important messages we should get is "be proactive, do not seat and wait for a job to fall at your door, use every chance you have to meet your objective".

Anyway my question is another one: as you said, you spent lots of time doing interviews, and just a few of the first rounds led to a second one. I supposed this, but now I had the final check. Now I am currently working full time, but I would like to change. As you evidenced recruiting takes a lot of time, and I can't take so many days off. At the same time I don't believe It's wise to leave the current job before finding a new one...

What would you guys do in my shoes?

yea, i would not gloat if i got offers from fti or navigant. i would kill myself before working there - go volunteer something significant, don't waste your life counting numbers or worse, making binders.
